AB - The method of Korean ancient book catalog was introduced from 1923 to 1954 and Korean ancient book catalog format was standardized with International book cataloging format from 1954 to 1980 and were published 50 titles. 20 titles were selected and analyzed about bibliographical characteristics in the sum of titles, the arrangement of entities, and the format of description.In describing the publication of nation, there are two way of description method. One is prior to successive dynasties over the publication of name of nation in cataloging ancient books in the case of Chosun dynasty or foreign nations. The other is successive dynasties were omitted at the back of Chosun dynasty. These method were broken out great deals of confusing. To resolve these problems, in this survey was emphasized that in describing the publication of the name of nation is more efficient than that of the other method.
