AB - There is a close relation between the ancient documents of SHOSOIN(正倉院文書) and Komyokogohotsuganissaikyo(光明皇后發願一切経) or Gogatsutsuitachikyo(五月一日経) which was a famous hand-copying sutras copyed in the 8th century. The former was a type of ledger which covers 10,000 or more items in Sakyojo(寫經所), a script center, and the latter was made there.
Both of them have lots of corresponding points in terms of content. We can understand the process of manufacturing the hand-copying sutras and the change of characteristics of the copied issaikyo sutras through the overall thinking. Also, we can study when, who and how the hand-copying sutras were manufactured. For such a reason, we can understand the holoscopic aspect of manufacturing the hand-copying sutras because there are the hand-copying sutras themselves and the ledger of the institution manufacturing them, and we can go one step forward to see the condition of operation in the ancient public offices. And they can be an important reference in considering the ancient hand-copying sutras in both Korea and China.
