AB - In this research, a bibliographical analysis was done to ascertain more clearly the conceptual identity of ‘Munyeom and Musim of Baegun Hwasang’ presented in Jikji which Baegun Gyeonghan(白雲景閑) had abstracted.
First, the concepts of ‘Munyeom of Hyeneung and Sinhoe’ and ‘Musim of Hyechung and Majo’, both abstracted in Jikji, were presented and their contents were examined.
Second, the references of the songs and speeches for praising Buddha were investigated, and the original contents of each reference were examined in detail from bibliographical viewpoints.
Third, an attempt was made to extract the identity of ‘Musim presented by Baegun’ by examining how the contents and core concepts identified from each reference were expressed and integrated into Baegun Hwasang Eorok.
The result confirms that based on the contents extracted from Baegun Hwasang Eorok, ‘Musim of Baegun’ presented in Jikji was firmly founded on the idea of ‘Seon(禪)’ advocated by Majo Doil(馬祖道一), Yukjo Hyeneung(六祖慧能), and Bori Dharma(菩提達磨).
