AB - EuiseookPyeon was made by the year kim, Hongjae in 1921, which was re-issued in 1929, 1944, and 1963. The 1929 edition and 1944 edition is the same as the first edition, but the 1963 edition is the modified edition. As the same as other dictionaries, it follows 214 radical system. In this dictionary, 63 Chinese radical, like ‘丶’, were removed and only 151 Chinese radical were adopted. As a result, 2,020 are inclued in this dictionary. Hun in Hangul, Tone and Interpretation were arranged in this dictionary. Differing from other dictionaries of the similar period, EuiseookPyeon only used Hun and Tone to interpret Chinese Charaters. As far as content of the first edition and the modified edition, there is no big difference among forms, radical systems, configuration and interpretation. However, phonetic phenomenon and notation of the first edition were modified in the modified edition. As a rare medical dictionary, EuiseookPyeon has significant value in Korea. In order to write EuiseookPyeon, Author Kim, Hongjae makes efforts to select Hun in Hangul and interpretation in Chinese character, which will be appreciated.
