AB - The National Library of Korea has 32 private collections at the end of 2015. Private collection keep personal honor and contribute to the future generations being handed over to posterity.
The Ilsan Collection, which was founded in 1970 by the National Library of Korea, is a renowned book that stands out as a quality collection of Kim Doo-jong, compared to other private collection.
Dr. Kim Doo-jong of Ilsan is the antithesis of the medical profession. In particular, he excelled in history such as Korea’s printing press. He also has a collection of books that have collected a lot of manuscript books.
Kim Doo-jong, who collected more than 5,500 books, donated 4,983 books to the National Library of Korea in 1970. The major findings are as follows: First, according to the classification by the classification method, Keongbo books are 541 vols. Sabo books are 1,917 vols. Jabo books are 603 vols. JIbbo books are 1,922 vols.
In addition, metal printed books are 1,947 books. The wooden printed books are 1,595 books. The Mockhaljabon are 978 books. The Suckpanbon are 115 books. The Sinyenhaljabon are 192 books. The manuscripts are 43 books. The copy books are 116 books. The Youinbon are 2 books.
Three books published in the Koryo Dynasty were 3 books.
Fourth, according to the Regulations for National Library of Korea, the number of quadring-based materials collected pursuant to the National Library of Korea is 157 kinds of books. Meanwhile, Rare books are 963 copies / 3,475 volumes of the National Library of Korea.
Fifth, Naesabon of the Ilsan Collection are 65 copies. A Naesabon of the National Library of Korea showed that 145 copies of copies make up 45 percent of the book in Ilsan. In particular, there are 52 copies metal printed books, and the remainder of the wooden prints are 8 kinds of wooden prints and 5 wooden rolls. On the other hand, Naesain was identified in five categories: ‘Junjeoljibo’, ‘Dongmunjibo’, ‘Seonsajigi’, ‘Gyujangjibo’, and ‘hummunjibo’.
