ABSTRACT

This paper introduces the contents of Dongmongsuji (童蒙須知) compiled by No Su-sin (盧守愼) and analyzes it from a bibliographic point of view. The current edition of Dongmongsuji was first published in Anui(安義), Gyeongsangnam-do in 1517 under the leadership of Kim An-guk(金安國), and the second and third editions were continuously published. The first edition of the book consists of five chapters, written by Kang Han(姜漢) and written by Yoon Hyo-bing(尹孝聘). The second published edition has the same body composition as the first published edition, with an epilogue of still temperature added. The third published edition has a different typeface from the first published edition, but the composition is the same, and the epilogue of the regularity has been added. No Su-sin’s Dongmongsuji was compiled to educate his nephews around 1555. In 1574, his friend Heo Chung-gil(許忠吉) published it as a woodblock print in Yeongju(榮州), Gyeongsangbuk-do. Unlike the edition published in China, this book is No Su-sin’s original view. The book is divided into paragraphs and annotated under the separate paragraphs. The level of the annotations was focused on explaining the overall meaning of simple vocabulary or paragraphs, for the reason that the readers considered the level of the annotations. In addition, the text of this book has punctuation marks and a Korean-language discussion is added to the text. Annotation and Hangul Proclamation are not found in other Joseon books, Dongmongsuji. This book is meaningful in that it is not published by the government or local governments, but is published by individuals. The Dongmongsuji compiled by No Su-sin, can be inferred from his original views and academic standards through the actual soil, annotations, and the composition of the text. However, it is regrettable that no one has left a similar case since No Su-sin, and that no progress has been made due to the Dongmongsuji statement.
