AB - At present, regarding the original copies of the Jejonggyojang, which had been engraved together with the compilation of Shinpyeonjejonggyojangchongrok (Uicheon (1055-1101), 1010 titles, 4857 fascicles), there are 2 titles. Only Daebanggwangbulhwaeomgyeongsusoyeoneuicho and Jeongwonshinyeokhwaeomgyeongso have been existing presently (In Japan). Regarding the manuscripts in which the imprints of the issue of the Suchang Year, which is the time of the engraving of the original copy, had been recorded, Daebanggwangbulhwaeomgyeongsusoyeoneuicho, Bulseolgeumgangbanyakparamilgyeongyakso, etc. have been existing presently (In Japan). And, as for the reprint copies, Seongyushikronsulgi, Seongyushikronyoeuideungcho, Seongyushikroneuigyeongcho, Yugasajironeuiyeon, etc. have been existing presently (In Korea).
Regarding the bibliographic investigation regarding these, it had been proceeded with by visiting the organizations that own them in Korea and overseas as ‘The Project for Collecting the Goryeogyojang in Mass and for Establishing a DB’ from the year 2012 until 2019. In this project, for 7 years, the survey investigation had been carried out with 307 titles, or 30.3%, from the 1010 titles that are contained in the Gyojangchongrok.
In this thesis, among the possessions regarding which the bibliographic investigation had been carried out, centered on the possessions in the Seongyushikron and the Yugasajiron, which are the theses of the Mahayana Buddhism Yogācāra-School, the bibliographical introduction and consideration had taken place.
Regarding the Seongyushikron, 108 titles had been written in Northeast Asia (In the Gyojangchongrok, 29 titles were contained). And, regarding the Yugasajiron, 62 titles had been written in Northeast Asia (In the Gyojangchongrok, 19 titles were contained). These two theses are the important literatures in understanding the unfolding, by the era, of the Yogācāra thought. As such, in Northeast Asia, a lot of the possessions regarding the two theses had been written. However, regretfully, regarding these possessions, because many of them had been scattered and lost, they do not exist at the present.
In this thesis, among the possessions that exist at the present, 4 titles, which are the only woodblock- printed books in Korea, had been introduced. Among the 4 titles, regarding 3 titles, as the possessions regarding the seongyushikron, they are Sulgi, Yoeuideungcho, and Euigyeongcho. And, regarding 1 title, as a possession regarding the Yugasajiron, it is Euiyeon. These possessions are the block books that had been reprinted at the Gangyeongdogam in the year of King Sejo. Among these possessions, Sulgi (Vol.6), Yoeuideungcho (Vol.3․4), and Euigyeongcho (Vol.12․19) are the block books that had been engraved at the Gwanggyowon. And they are the possessions that had been bound from the Gweonchukjang form to the Seonjang. And all of them are the Excavated Documents that were discovered at the Statue of the Four Warrior Spirits at the Songgwangsa Temple in Suncheon. Although Euiyeon had been possessed at the Songgwangsa Temple, at the present, only the first volumes and the end volumes of the volumes 15 and 16 have been presently existing as the photo duplicated materials. Especially, regarding the Euigyeongcho and the volume 16 of the Euiyeon, which are introduced in this thesis, not only are they the only block books in Korea, but, also, they are not contained in any collection of the sacred writings of Buddhism or any literature in Northeast Asia.
As such, regarding the ideological contents of the woodblocks of the Yogācāra and each volume, which are introduced in this thesis, they have the important material value in understanding and researching about the process of the regional and annotative unfolding in Northeast Asia and the ideological positions of the discussions.
