ABSTRACT

This paper is the result of researching the Buddhist commentaries(敎藏) of Korea, China, and Japan through Goryeo-gyojang(高麗敎藏) gathering and DB construction project. In particular, this study analyzed Goryeo-gyojang’s distribution and transmission of the Goryeo and Joseon periods. The summarized results are as in the following. The distribution and transmission of the Goryeo-gyojang in the Goryeo Dynasty was divided into publication and Woodblocks(經板) of Haeinsa Temple, the publication and distribution of temples in the Goryeo Dynasty, the publication and distribution of Daejang-dogam and Gibok-dogam, and the transmission and distribution of the scripts of Song(宋) and Yuan(元) periods. There are 13 types of Haeinsa publications and Woodblocks, including 12 Goryeo Dynasty woodblocks and 1 Haeinsa publication. Other materials published in the temples of the Goryeo Dynasty include three kinds, such as Geumgwangmyeonggyeongmungu(金光明經文句), and Hwaeom Ilseunggyoeui-Bunjejang(華嚴一乘敎義分齊章) related to the Goryeo-gyojang, as well as Beobgyegwansigcho(法界觀式抄). Among the commentaries listed in the Gyojangchonglok(敎藏總錄), there are 11 kinds of commentaries that have been published in the Daejang-dogam and Bunsa-dogam. Jjuinwang-hogug-banyagyeong(注仁王護國般若經) and Hongchan-beobhwajeon(弘贊法華傳) are confirmed as the engravings of each member who participated in Daejang-dogam. Others are conveyed by Cheontaesakyoeui(天台四敎儀) published in the Gibok-dogam, Daebanggwangbul-HwaeomGyeongso(大方廣佛華嚴經疏) imported from the Song Dynasty, and HwaeomGyeong-gangyo(華嚴經綱要) imported from the Yuan Dynasty. The circulation and transmission of the Goryeo-gyojang‘s Joseon Dynasty can be found in the GangyeongdoGambon(刊經都監本) published from 1461. There are Inmyeong-ibjeonglinonsocho(因明入正理論疏鈔), etc. as a second edition of Gangyeongdogam, and as new commentaries such as Wongaggyeong-daesoseoguicho(圓覺經大疏釋義鈔) were discovered in Songgwangsa(松廣寺), it became possible to add an understanding of the publication and spread of the Goryeo-gyojang. Reviewing the publication of Gangyeongdogam, it was estimated that eight kinds of Gangyeongdogam, such as Sinhwaeomgyeonghabnon(新華嚴經合論), and Geumgwangmyeonggyeong-mungu(金光明經文句), as intermediate copies of Gangyeongdogam, but recently, a new book was discovered in Songgwangsa. It became possible to expand the study of Gyojang. Other translations published by GangyeongdoGam Banyasimgyeong-yaksohyunjunggi(般若心經略疏顯正記), Amitagyeong(阿彌陀經), Wongakgyeong(圓覺經). Reviewing the publication and distribution of other Goryeo-gyojang, DaeSojuGyeong(大疏注經) was circulated and used from the 15th to the 17th century in the Joseon Dynasty following the Goryeo Dynasty.
