AB - Regarding Yeongdo, which is located in the original downtown in Busan, the island is uniquely one administrative district of which the unit is the Gu. And, ever since the opening of the port, within the process of the rapid urbanization, it has been changing together while supporting the urban function of the original downtown. Yeongdo grows together with the original downtown, however, nowadays it has been declining and getting undervalued, although it is a place that possesses the sufficient value and identity, Hence, Yeongdo needs the process of sharing the value and looking for the identity. And, for this, the research was proceeded with a methodology that analyzes the changes of the city scenery of Yeongdo from the cultural landscape viewpoint. The purpose of the research is to arrive at the special, cultural landscape characteristics and the values of Yeongdo. The special, cultural landscape characteristics and the values mean the identity and the independence which distinguish Yeongdo from the landscapes of the other regions. And they are the minimal, special characteristics that must be protected in the future changes of the city scenery of Yeongdo. This study preserves the identity of Yeongdo, and it will be utilized as a research material for converting into an approach method that is different from the existing development projects.
