AB - This study aims to examine the association between neighborhood built environment and leisure walking time by age group in the Ayanggyo neighborhood in Daegu. The dependent variables is the total weekly minute of walking, and the independent variables consists of neighborhood built environment and individual characteristics. Neighborhood built environmental factors includes nine variables from green space, land use, and transportation network. Neighborhood built environmental variables were collected by GIS analysis, and individual characteristics and leisure walking time were collected through the survey. As a result, total weekly minutes of walking time was significantly associated with distance to waterfront park(−), distance to neighborhood park(−), crosswalk density(+), road density(−), and residence period(+) in the 30-40 age group, and distance to waterfront park(−), living in an apartment(+), and residence period(+) in the 50+ age group. This study is significant in that it examined the association between neighborhood built environment and total weekly minute of leisure walking by age group, which has not explored much in previous studies.
