ABSTRACT

This study explored the relationship between AI course belonging and learners’ course satisfaction, focusing on the mediating role of AI task self-efficacy. Survey data were collected from 50 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in AI-related courses and analyzed using PROCESS Macro Model 4 with bootstrapping. AI course belonging was significantly and positively associated with both course satisfaction and AI task self-efficacy, and a significant indirect effect through AI task self-efficacy was observed. This indirect effect remained significant even after controlling for AI literacy. Supplementary semi-structured interviews revealed that AI course belonging was associated with active participation, psychological stability, and confidence in AI task performance. The findings suggest that course satisfaction may be associated with both a sense of belonging and AI task self-efficacy within the classroom community, beyond learners’ prior AI literacy alone.
