ABSTRACT

Various studies have investigated research trends. While articles published in SSCI journals are growing and due to social attention increasing, little research has analyzed the research trends of articles in those journals by the researchers of Korean Public Administration. The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends and current event of articles published in those journals from 2000 to 2009. In order to do this five SSCI journals were selected and analyzed on the dimensions of authors’ personal backgrounds, the research areas, research methodologies, and number of citations’’ per year in articles. The results show that authors' selection of journals, nations of their final degree, and their current organizations are extremely limited to the U. S. A. The areas and methodologies of research are disproportionately laid to certain areas and methodologies. T he volume of articles by doctoral students, the coauthorship between professors and students, the number of their articles, and the number of citation per year raise intellectual tensions for the development and internationalization of Korean Public Administration.
