ABSTRACT

The present study aimed to examine effects of the EBSe Textbook English Program and suggest further directions for its improvement. A total of 381 EBSe users participated in a survey, including 160 students, 157 parents, and 64 teachers. They responded to questionnaires about usage experience, the program’s effects, suggestions for improving the ESBe Textbook English Program, and others. Their responses were analyzed based on descriptive statistics, including means, standard deviations, and frequencies. Results showed that 45.7% of participants (54.7% of the teachers, 51.6% of the parents, and 48.1% of the students) had experience of using the EBSe English Textbook Program. Regarding the program’s effects, the overall average score was 4.21 based on a 5-point Likert scale analysis, with all items receiving scores of more than 4 points. The program’s effect in supporting school English education was the most positively appreciated by participants, followed by its effect in establishing students’ regular English study habits, and its effect in reducing both need and expenses for private education. Finally, 79.8% of participants expressed willingness to use the program when it is updated with its contents improved. Their suggestions about content development and program improvement were also analyzed with their implications discussed.
