ABSTRACT

In this paper, I am going to find a historical knowledge and an ethics in St. Augustinus, and examine his philosophy of history, its limits critically. Especially I think St. Augustinus expresses unique teleological view of time, because he describes history in apologetic perspective for contemporary own christianity. By this reason, this within it, I note that he makes except a reflection about other country and religion, moreover he commits a fault to exclude history of nature. Nonetheless St. Augustinus argues that human beings intend ethics of happiness in the Absolute as a permanent present. It may be argued that ethics of love which we will survey, that is, Alter ego in love. In recent years, our history has become history of war, discord trouble, and conflict. Therefore like ethics of St. Augustinus, we are requested to realize concern of Alter ego and decentric virtue.
