ABSTRACT

It is obvious that globalization of today is not only influencing on economy but also penetrating into culture and knowledge. Through re-enforcement of its power by integrating with digital technology, the single governance system has been accelerated with more powerful form. However, from my point of view, it is clear that the unification of economy-culture-knowledge-technology is merely a strategy to justify the ‘surveillance and punishment’ of so-called global actors, neo-liberalists, and market fundamentalists. In this article we have diagnosed that the modern imperialist’s ideology has been revived and repeated in this era, then we make epistemological and methodological sketch of multi-cultural symbiotic by creating the concept of ‘Pluri-verse-cultures’ as an alternative of (to substitute) the illusive concept of ‘Uni-verse-culture’. Pluri-verse-cultures is basically a new cultural hermeneutics, requested in 21st century, and is a new philosophical aim based on an idea that the cultural diversity can hardly be respected unless each local cultures are revitalized. The valuables, such as democracy, human rights, world peace, social and economical justice, can hardly be expected without the symbiosis with the Pluri-verse-cultures. In this regards, the current American dream and Chinese dream, as well as Korean Wave or Korean dream more directly, can be regarded as a kind of cultural invasion disguising as the universal. As Kamran Mofid points out accurately, it’s the time to awakening, for all of us, that “common good for all (mankind)” shall not be commensurate with the plots of market-dominating power.
