ABSTRACT

In this paper, I intend to show that Putnam’s “brain-in-a-vat argument” is a false argument. The key is the distinction between the real world, the representational world, our belief system. Putnam is making the mistake of applying the conclusions he has gained about the representational world to the real world. It is the final conclusion of this paper that such mistakes lead to misunderstanding that Putnam survives skepticism.
