1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand the origin, changes and composition of Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang. 2. Methods 1) Analyzeｄ the context of the progressive transformation of soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang　ｉｎ related passageｓ from 『Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑)』, 『Donguisusebowon·Chobongwon (東醫壽世保元·草本卷)』, 『Donguisusebowon·Gabobon (東醫壽世保元·甲午本)』,『Donguisusebowon·Sinchukbon (東醫壽世保元·辛丑本)』,『Dongmuyugo (東武遺稿)』2) Examineｄ the differences between the utilization of Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang in pre-existing manuscripts according to pathological pattern and ｍｏｒｅ　specifically ａｔ　ａ pathological stage. 3) Analyzed the total primary effect of the herbs as a prescriptive category, as well as the herbal properties of each component. 3. Results and Conclusion 1) Originally Dongwon's Bojungikgi-tang was prescribed as a stomach & spleen organ tonifying medicine so it was easily applied and established as a prescriptｉｏｎ appropriate ｆｏｒ Soeumin constitutional types with a weaker spleen organ. 2) From Gabobon(甲午本), Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang was modified, excluding Bupleurum falcatum(柴胡), Cimicifuga heracleifolia (升麻) and substituting Teucrium chamaedrys(藿香), Ophiopogon japonicus(蘇葉) which are herbs appropriate for ｔｈｅ　Soeumin constitutional type. 3) In the Gabobon(甲午本), the Gegi-tang which has yang raising properties　ｉｓ included in the Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang. In Sinchukbon(辛丑本), the Gegi-tang ｏｆ the Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang in the Gabobon was excluded and the Gegi-tang mutateｄ into Hwangigyeji-tang. 4) In the Gabobon(甲午本), as the Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang was ｐｒｅｓｃｒｉｂｅｄｆｏｒ Soeumin disease regardless of favorable-unfavorable patterns and mild-severe patterns, the stage of the disease when ｔｏ　ｐｒｅｓｃｒｉｂｅ Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang was not clarified. 5) As of the Sinchukbon(辛丑本) edition, as Soeumin's prescriptions have been obvious, the soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang was applied to Mang-yang disease with Hwangigyeji-tang and Seungyangikki-tang 　. 6) As of the Sinchukbon(辛丑本) edition, the Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang has been applied to　ｐａｔｉｅｎｔｓ having both exterior-heat Mang-yang disease and Greater-yin disease， at the same time. 7) As of the Sinchukbon(辛丑本) edition, finally, the Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang formula has been established as gathering Qi and middle tonification with Panax ginseng(人蔘), Astragalus membranaceus(黃芪), keeping the spleen healthy with Artractylodes japonica(白朮), keeping the spleen strong with Angelica acutiloba(當歸), ｒｏｏｔing ｔｈｅ　spleen 　 with Citrus reticulata(陳皮), raising Yang and middle ｊｉａｏ with Teucrium chamaedrys(藿香), Ophiopogon japonicus(蘇葉), middle tonification with Glycyrrhiza glabra(甘草灸), Zingiber officinale(生薑), Zizyphus jujuba(大棗) .

1.Objectives It is very important to classify people into Sasang constitution correctly in SCM. There have been many researches for this and several tools have been developed for diagnosis of Sasang constitution. In our study, we introduce a new web application for Integrated Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis (ISCD) β-version and algorithm on the base of face, body shape, voice and questionnaire. 2.Development The web application of ISCD β-version was designed to be used easily for subject, staffs, and oriental medical doctors. For this purpose, we developed a web-application of Integrated Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis β-version using mysql database, tomcat web system, JSP, JAVA, and C++ languages. 3.Current State The ISCD β-version could be accessed at http://210.218.196.115/SDT/login.jsp. The ISCD β-version consisted of 3 parts, for staffs, subject and oriental medical doctors. The system has been managed since February 2011. Currently 7 oriental hospitals have used the system and 1,439 subjects have been diagnosed by the system. 4.Conclusion and future work Although many researchers have tried to develop a system or an algorithm for diagnosis of subject's constitution, we could have not used the system based on objective information of human body type, characters, symptoms. In this study, we describe a web application of objective diagnosis algorithm as ISCD β-version. This system may help an oriental medical doctors to make a decision of Sasang constitutional diagnosis easily and correctly.

Objective In this study we derived constitutional characteristics both by using questionnaire on character and symptom and by collecting objective measurement data through face, body shape. Furthermore, by developing a program, we intend to help one’s diagnosis of Sasang constitution. Methods Through November 2007 to July 2009, we obtained questionnaire, face, and body shape data of 958 constitution confirmed subjects within the age range of 10-80 from 19 oriental medical facilities in the country. According to sex, we divided the subjects into two groups as real constitution and non-constitution group respectively. We analyzed the questionnaire through chi-square test (p<.01) and facial and body shape data through unpaired T-test (p<.01). By using weight law for questionnaire and euclidean distance for body shape and face data, we expressed constitution possibility to develop a supplementary program. Results The concordance rates of constitutional diagnosis by using the program for Taeeumin, Soeumin, Soyangin are, 76.7%, 61.5%, 67.4% resulting in 69.6% in male and 64.1%, 64.7%, 65.1%, resulting in 64.7% In female respectively. New cases tested on the program showed concordance rate of 65% in male and 62% in female with real constitution Conclusion The constitutional diagnostic program based on the face, body shape and questionnaire, may have significant meaning as a supplementary tool in the constitutional diagnosis for clinical expert.
