ABSTRACT

Objectives: The purpose of this article is to organize poetry published from 1921 to June 1950. In a previous study, Professor Ha Dong-ho compiled 374 kinds of poetry. This work includes some of the poems written in classical or foreign languages, and there are some missing poetry collections. This article is based on this, and unlike previous studies, we focused on the major publishers that published modern poetry. Methods: The purpose of this article is to organize poetry collections published from 1921 to June 1950. To this end, except for classical poetry collections or poetry collections written in foreign languages covered in previous studies, the study was conducted based on more than 400 kinds of poetry collections, focusing on major publishers that published modern poetry during the colonial period. Conclusions: Through this article, we looked at the publishers that were in charge of publishing modern poetry, the publishers that published the most books of poetry in Japanese colonial era, the publishing patterns of literary poetry, poetry collections published by poet-run publishers, poetry collections published by literary magazines, and major self-authored poetry collections.
