ABSTRACT

In this study, we looked at how the key words in newspaper articles changed the perception of refugees. The difference in the perception of refugees before and after the situation in Jeju Island in 2018 was evident in keywords. From 1990 to 2017, refugee keywords appeared as Western European-centric keywords such as Europe and Africa. However, it was found that it moved to South Korea's center such as South Korea and Jeju Island after 2018. In this study, a fragmentary keyword analysis presented in the title of the article considered changes in refugee awareness. Therefore, no analysis has been made on whether or not refugee-related keywords have a positive or negative impact on recognition. However, studies have shown that key words in newspaper articles affect refugee awareness.
