ABSTRACT

n this study, it is necessary to improve the quality of current refugee examination in order to be recognized as a refugee in Korea by examining the status and status of refugees in Korea. In June of 2018, the 'Jeju Island Yemen Refugees' issue, which is at the center of the controversy over Korea's hottest issue, is shaking the foundation of Korea's refugee policy and may be a step forward for refugee policy in accordance with the government's policy actions on this issue. The refugee protection was put on the forking road where the refugee protection could be deteriorated before the civil law was enacted. While comparing the situation of refugees with the situation of refugees in the world, it is criticized that Korea has expanded the outline of the refugee policy. However, it is still criticized that the refugee recognition rate is low and lack of expertise in examination is insufficient. Since refugees are not free from domestic and foreign political problems, the Korean government should ensure that refugees who are staying in Korea are granted basic rights and that they are able to adapt themselves to society as a social integration perspective.
