ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the impact of social capital on living satisfaction of foreign migrants. The data were based on the 2019 Seoul Survey of Urban Policy Indicators (Seoul Survey) for foreign residents living in Seoul. The results of the study are as follows. First, in the type of stay of migrants, marriage immigrant groups had higher satisfaction with living in Korea when forming bridge-type social capital. Visiting employment groups had high Korean language skills and high living satisfaction when forming bridge-type social capital. Second, the Korean language ability, length of residence, and bridge-type social capital of migrants were found to affect living satisfaction.
