AB - This study is aimed at supporting the stable settlement of foreigners residing in Chungcheongnam-do. In South Chungcheong Province, 9 out of 15 cities and counties are experiencing population decline and are experiencing a labor shortage. Securing foreign labor is very important in order to respond to the decrease in labor force in areas with declining populations, and securing foreign labor is linked to the settlement of foreigners. In order to secure foreign workers, South Chungcheong Province is in the process of changing its status of residence to skilled workers in non-professional employment, through the seasonal work system, and to regional-specific visas and negative professional visa types to help foreign students settle in the region. To help them settle down stably in South Chungcheong Province, we proposed Korean language and culture education for seasonal workers before their entry into the country, expansion of the number of non-professional workers allowed to become skilled workers, and support for corporate internships for local employment of international students. Based on this, we hope that foreigners staying in Chungcheongnam-do will have a continuous stay and stable settlement.
