ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze the patterns of hatred and discrimination against marriage migrant women online and derive policy implications in the digital age. From April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2023, 325 articles from 11 daily newspapers nationwide were collected through Big Kines, and the pattern of hatred was analyzed focusing on keywords (policy, human rights, crime, jobs, media-related). In order to cope with the conflict patterns against foreign residents in the digital environment, the following policy implications could be derived. First, it is necessary to strengthen support policies for multicultural families so that multicultural families can properly harmonize and settle in Korean society. Second, to protect the human rights of multicultural families, human rights education and multicultural understanding education for Koreans are strengthened. Third, to establish policies that allow migrants to be properly protected from various crimes that occur to multicultural families. Fourth, it is necessary to establish an institutional arrangement so that migrants are not treated differentially in economic activities such as jobs.
