AB - The montage theory was introduced to Japan in early period of Showa. Interest leaned on the montage theory very much in not only the world of the movie but also the world of the literature. Yamaguchi Seishi has begun to apply interest to a montage theory. In this article, I analyze his haiku theory and work. And I consider montage theoretical influence. As a result, I understood that Seishi felt a limit in conventional haiku expression. And he has begun to take in another new method of Haiku. When he established a new creation method, a montage theory performed an important function. In other words Seishi was going to exceed a limit of the haiku expression that he felt by applying a montage theory. And he cleared the new ground of the haiku creation.
