ABSTRACT

As Korea's economy grows, the quality of life of the people has been improving. The public are increasing interested in maritime leisure activities by reduced working hours with five days working in a week. In fact, the number of license acquirer for small-sized leisure boat is about 135,000 people since 2007 has increased by an annual average of about 14 percent. Korean government have also recognized the marina industry as a new growth engine, and assigned six marina port for development through supporting by government. As the demand of maritime leisure growing up, the development of infrastructure, such as maritime leisure boat and marina port, will continue. However, the marina safety management system does not established for safe maritime leisure activities. As a result, maritime accidents happened such as collision, fire and disorder of engine caused by leisure boat operators fault. In this paper, we found out evaluation items for efficiency safety management of marina leisure activities, and also distinguished the order of priority among the evaluation items by AHP method. Consequently, the marine leisure boat equipment was scored highly in the high level, and in comprehensive evaluation, strengthening of administrative support(0.173), fire fighting equipment(0.151), safety education program(0.135) and activities of safety management(0.135) are considered importantly through analysis by AHP.
