ABSTRACT

This study focuses on suggesting a competitive reinforcement strategy for Korean banks to enter the Chinese financial market, and it introduces a generic competitive advantage, implementation strategy, risk managements, and supervision of management. In this research, SWOT analysis is adopted to review and investigate the competitiveness of Korean banks’ entry into the Chinese financial market. First, the Korean banks should increase market shares through localization and differentiation. Second, the Korean banks should enhance domestic and international competitiveness. Third, Korean banks need to secure risk managements and keep managerial oversights enacted by China's laws. Korean banks should try to enter the Chinese financial market with the localization strategy based on the empowering of local subsidiaries and the differentiation strategy to utilize the geographical closeness of Korea-China economic relationship.
