ABSTRACT

Public servants in the field of disaster and safety management need to be educated and trained to increase their job competence and performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of educational training on job competence and performance perceptions by focusing on the moderating effect of satisfaction on educational training effectiveness. The results of the findings show that perception of educational training effectiveness is positively related to job competence and performance perception of public servants. In addition, the negative effect of educational training factors on job competence and performance perception of public servants is reduced due to a moderating effect of satisfaction on educational training effectiveness. These findings have implications on understanding the effectiveness of educational training among public servants in Korea.
