ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze the general perceptions of 119 paramedics in triage about the system of severity classifier and use it as basic data for its introduction in Korea. A total of 332 surveys were collected from 119 paramedics in C area from October 10 to October 30, 2017 and analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The results of the study suggest that the degree of involvement in severity classifiers is higher for those who see the need of a severity classifier or who are willing to participate in disaster and multiple casualty education. Therefore, the introduction and active implementation of a severity classifier would construct an effective severity classification operation system, which provides educational opportunities for systematic triage and 119 paramedics.
