ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine the issues and implications of institutionalization of the Social Economy Act in Korea. In response, the institute studied issues and institutionalization related to the enactment of the Framework Act on Social Economy, the proposed Framework Act on Social Economy, and the National Assembly's public hearing. In order to apply the concept of social economy originated in Europe to our society and embody its substance into law, there must be more academic and policy discussions on the social economy. However, the necessity of enacting the Framework Act on Social Economy was agreed by civil society and politicians, so it was suggested that the Framework Act on Social Economy should be enacted first and supplementary matters should be revised after enactment.
