AB - Competency based education, a concept used in the universities or companies recently, has the direction to organize the leanrner-centric curriculum beyond the existing theory and content-centric education. It can be considered as the education to design the contents with required competency for learners. This study is aimed to design the curriculum of ‘the general Korean language class in the universities’ with the competency required for the Korean education of foreign students. To do so, it is intended to summarize the required competency for the general Korean language class by literature review and keyword analysis by expert group. Summarized competency will be used to design the curriculum of the Korean language class.
