ABSTRACT

The current study suggests Brunswick's lens model as a conceptual framework that can be applied to various aspects of liberal arts education research and discusses its possibilities of application. The original Brunswick's lens model explains how an organism perceives its environment. Due to the similarity between the processes of human object judgment and environmental perception, the lens model has been extensively applied to probabilistic judgment research in many fields for decades. In the field of liberal arts education, different subjects make various judgments, so there are numerous possibilities of research applying the lens model. Therefore, this study introduces Brunswick's lens model, a framework that has not been actively applied in the field of liberal arts education until now. Furthermore, future research directions for the application of the lens model in the study of liberal arts education and its significance are discussed.
