ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the meaning and find countermeasures by examining the unprecedented college life and perception experienced by 20th and 21st year students in the transition to the online learning environment through FGI. From this, FGI was conducted as follows for 12 20th students and 14 21st students who took liberal arts courses taught by the author in 2020 and 2021 by academic, environmental, and psychological factors. First, as a academic factor, we listened to what these college students experienced in online non-face-to-face classes and analyzed their meaning. If the first goal of the 20th year students was to adapt to the changed environment, the 21st year students were to find and execute their own bar in it. Second, as environmental factors, the frequency of school attendance, participation in school events, student council and club activities, and communication with school members were listened to and the meaning analyzed. Most of the events were canceled in 2020, but partially carried out in 2021, and there were more 21st year students communicating with members of the college. Third, as an psychological factor, we listened to the image of the college and self recognized by these college students, and the positive and negative emotions felt in college life, and analyzed the meaning. All of the 20th and 21st students talked about the sense of liberation that they were able to do whatever they wanted to do, but they complained about their majors and career paths, and the lethargy that comes from their relaxed lives. In the future, it is necessary to design systematic classes suitable for online non-face-to-face classes, link them with face-to-face classes, and establish a support system necessary for adapting to college life.
