ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to discuss the need to devise some methods of teaching that fit the current era and prepare for the future education and implement new teaching and learning methods that meet digital natives’ needs. To show this, this study investigated the instructional effectiveness of the notion, a note-taking software platform to organize assignments, manage lesson plans and project based on learning. Notion is effective for using when carrying out cooperative projects because it is easy to structure ideas, visualize thoughts, use intuitive data, and share announcements and schedules. The ability to cooperate, which is essential for the future, can be cultivated through collaborative activities using digital tools. This study selected the crisis of the ecosystem as the subject that allows learners to present productive alternatives through cooperation. As a result of conducting the class, in the survey, students responded positively to the improvement of cooperation, the effectiveness of the digital tools, and the improvement of ecological literacy. By correcting and making up the problems found during the first semester of 2022, this study suggested a student directed project learning model using the digital tools and literature-based activities to foster digital literacy and have opportunities for humanistic reflection.
