ABSTRACT

Shim Sangkyu was a important political bureaucrat and he was a famous writter of the 19th centuries. Actually, Shim Sangkyu took an active part in writing such as poetry and prose. But it is regretful that some of poetry and epistolary literature just remain. As a result we have not payed attention to his literary works. The volume "Dusilcheogdog", which collects his 92 letters is so important that it deserves special emphasis on his noticeable writings. The copy of "Dusilcheogdog"(T0YO 0350), which is held in Toyo-bunko of Japan, especially is important. It contains 56 letters which were not in the other copies. I illuminated some letters of "Dusilcheogdog"(T0YO 0350) on the aspect of lyrical letters named Chuck-Dock. He sought for the emotional writing and vignette-style of writing in his letters.
