ABSTRACT

The doctrines of Wang Yangming(Yangmyong) is had a great influence on the thought of Joseon. but It was difficult to follow it because it was a suppressed idea. Because of this, excellent writers wrote this by hiding it in their works. Heo Kyun(許筠) was a writer interested in the fiction of ideas. Therefore, all his novels should be examined in a story that includes his ideas. Because of this, the goal of this thesis is to provide an alternative reading of “Namgung Seonsaeng Jeon(南宮先生傳)”, which survived in Seongsobubugo(惺所覆瓿藁). The doctrines of WangYangming which inheres in “Namgung Seonsaeng Jeon(南宮先生傳)”. A analyze of Heo Kyun(許筠)’s texts include the doctrines of Wang Yangming. And based on this, I divide and analyze the narrative of “Namgung Seonsaeng Jeon(南宮先生傳)” into three. Chapter 1 is centered on personal greed. The personal greed of the characters leads to the destruction of Namgung Du's life. Chapter 2 describes the Heo Kyun's anxieties about the way of true enlightenment through the characters that conflict between desire and perseverance. Chapter 3 is how to Practice the Realities of the Diagram and the Wonder of the Artist. A character of 1 and 3 are different from the inside. Chapter 3’s Namgung Du is the enlightened and a narratives that he go to meet Heo Kyun is very important. Heo Kyun is taught from Namgung Du. This narratives is Heo Kyun’s reveals realistic concerns and will to the practice of the province. This method of analyzing "Namgung Seonsaeng Jeon" (Yangmyong) can contribute to analyzing four other works.
