ABSTRACT

This paper explores the transformative effects of AI technology on the art field, specifically addressing the questions of whether AI can serve as a creator of artistic work and whether its outputs can be recognized as works of art. Initially, the author delves into the underlying fears surrounding artificial intelligence potentially encroaching upon the unique realm of human creativity. Following this, the paper examines the possibilities and limitations of AI in terms of creativity and emotional expression through philosophical discussions, including the Turing Test and the Chinese Room argument. These discussions lead to the claim that the advancement of AI necessitates a reevaluation of the definitions of art and creativity. Ultimately, the paper advocates for a redefined relationship between humans and AI, promoting a perspective that views them as mutually complementary rather than confrontational. It also suggests to expand the horizons of artistic practice through AI, proposing new imaginative frameworks for understanding the role of art in a post-human era.
