ABSTRACT

This study examines the effect of gender, age, and marriage images on the marriage value, For this study, the survey was conducted to 272 adults living in Korea from March 1 to June 15, 2019. The results of this study are as followed. First, in terms of the difference of marriage image and marriage value according to gender, it turned out that men were relatively more positive than women in marriage image. For the value of marriage, it was shown that men were significantly higher in the conservative-instrumental marriage value than women, and that women were significantly higher in the passive-exclusive marriage value. Second, there were no significant differences between marriage value and marriage images according to age, Third, looking in the influence of gender, age and marriage image on marriage values, it was found that marriage image has a statistically significant effect on stable-romantic marriage value which is a sub-domain of marriage value, and that gender, age and marriage image all showed a statistically significant effect on conservative-instrumental inarriage values. It also showed that marriage image has a statistically significant effect on the passive-exclusive marriage value.
