AB - This Study focuses on the relations of "I Am a Cat" and "The Literary Criticism" written by Natsume Soseke. Jonathan Swift whom he is analyzing in "The Literary Criticism" is his favorite English novelist. Especially this paper treats of Soseki borrowing Jonathan Swift's satirical method in a what way, in the middle of making an one-off short story into long story. And I argue that Soseki Natsume has wide application a digression that he learned in "A Tale of a Tub" written by Jonathan Swift.
