ABSTRACT

The purpose of this thesis is to propose a method for teaching classical or modern literature to the MZ generation by introducing case studies of hands-on instructional programs in university education. To achieve this, the “Kyeongbu Railway Song,” composed by Choi Nam Seon in 1908, was reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective. Recognizing that the “Kyeongbu Railway Song” was the first ChangGa in 7·5 Articles in 4 lines of each section, Jongro was chosen as the location for the program to facilitate accessibility for students from Seoul or other regions. Choi Nam Seon’s “Kyeongbu Railway Song” drew inspiration from the enlightenment of teenagers and crea ed he “Jongro Walking Song” as an al erna ive o introduce easily accessible walking destinations to college students. The choice of the “Kyeongbu Railway Song” as the theme was motivated by the desire to list the starting and ending stations of the Kyeongbu Line, making it comprehensible even to those unfamiliar with the geography of the area. The “Kyeongbu Railway Song” not only highlights locations along the Kyeongbu Line but also encapsulates the broader concept and appreciation of intellectualism. The selection of this theme aims to make university students find the creator’s attitude appealing. In this article, we examine the process and considerations involved in the modern reinterpretation of the “Kyeongbu Railway Song,” as well as the universality and specificity of the transformed work, and its relevance to classical poetry in university education.
