AB - Humanities scholarship has revealed a wide range of structural problems, including outdated research topics and methodologies, a lack of communication with other disciplines, limited practical relevance, tendencies to preserve and exploit established academic positions, a lack of scholarly rigor and research outcomes, parochial and exclusionary academic practices, and cartel-like relationships between professors and students. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has further intensified the crisis facing the humanities. To transform these challenges into opportunities, humanities scholars are required to undertake self-reflexive and innovative reforms, including a willingness to relinquish vested interests.
