ABSTRACT

Generally the meaning of culture is taken as ‘the ways of life that members of social community acquire as its custom and system of belief.’ Following E. Hall’s view, this paper presumes the conflict between the diversity claim of community members and the uniformity claim of political power. So the decisive point of the paper is to adopt the proper view between those claims which is to be available in the present time and the future in light of the understanding of contemporary culture situation. The solutions to pick out the claim are borrowed from the philosophers, such as I. Kant, M. Heidegger, and G. Deleuzes. And the central ideas are the public use of the reason, authentic life lived in fundamental time, following the call of conscience, and a nomadic life escaping from the uniformity. As an example of such form of life, the paper also discusses the relationship between music art and cultural art industry.
