AB - Mythology is a reflection of social life, and it embodies people’s thinking about natural phenomena, as well as the laws and origins of nature since ancient times. Every nation in the world has its own myths. These myths not only reflect the social life at the time, but also reflect the social group thinking of the time from another aspect. This thesis takes the “ancestors” myths of China and Korea as the theme, and starts from the three levels of “founding ancestors”, “human ancestors” and “national ancestors”. Specific comparative analysis of social culture.
This thesis analyzes the basic types of Chinese and Korean ancestor myths. Among Chinese myths, it lists such myths as the creation of the world by Pangu, the creation of human beings by Nuwa, and the Yandi, Huangdi In Korean myths, it lists the creation of Maitreya and Hwanung story. In these myths, a comparative analysis of the “origin types” of the myths, the characteristics of the “characters”, and the “cultural thoughts” embodied in these myths are carried out, and the similarities and differences between the myths of the ancestors of China and Korea are explained. In this way, it provides a meaningful reference for the study of the ancestor mythology in China and Korea.
