AB - At present, WiFi Access Points are widely used and spread to the general public as the wireless Internet become popular. WiFi based wireless communication, which is following IEEE 802.11 standard, is applied not only to indoor environment but also the outdoor urban places for wireless Internet. In addtion to this, the application area of WiFi is utilized as the micro-scale location-based services. This study analyzied the spatial distribution and the utilization features of WiFi Accesss Points. The case study is applied to the commercial and residential places and the density, secutiy, and spatial features are analyzied and compared. Based on these analysis, the spatail characteris of WiFi are overviewed in the perspective of future ubiquitous services.
