ABSTRACT

As the number of female drivers has recently increased, the number of traffic accidents of female drivers is also increasing. Domestic traffic accidents have declined over the past five years, but traffic accidents by female drivers are increasing steadily. It is necessary to take care and measures for traffic accidents of female drivers. The purpose of this paper is to help women drivers to avoid traffic accidents by visualizing and analyzing the traffic accident spots of female drivers in Seoul. For this purpose, this study analyzed the traffic accident data of 2010 Seoul which includes the latitude and logitude information, and the time of occurrence of the accident point. In order to analyze the concentration of traffic accidents in female drivers, kernel density analysis and hotspot analysis were performed. In order to analyze the spatio-temporal characteristics, hotspot analysis after time flattening, space time cube analysis and emerging hotspot analysis were performed. Finally, we analyze and summarize the spatial and temporal concentration areas of traffic accidents of female drivers and draw implications for them.
