ABSTRACT

The historical lesson from the flourishing and declining of Kampo medicine in Japan Department of Basic Theory, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing 100029,China LIANG, Rong Influenced by the western science and experimental medicine of recent times, Kampo medicine had been founded characterized by experiment at the Edo age in Japan. However, the government of Japan pursued the scientificalness of medicine blindly, then Kampo medicine completely westernized and moved towards the decline. In our modernization of Chinese medicine, the historical lesson of Japan should be learned.
