AB - This study aims to evaluate the web accessibility of the National Archives of Korea (NAK) for users with visual impairments through a comparative case study and automated evaluation and to propose institutional improvements. Accessibility practices at the national archives of the United Kingdom (TNA), the United States (NARA), Canada (LAC), and NAK were compared in terms of policies, website support, alternative access to archival content, and feedback systems. In addition, twelve representative pages of the NAK website were evaluated using K-WAH 4.0 based on KWCAG 2.2. The results showed that alternative text, page titles, and default language all met the applicable criteria, while markup errors accounted for 83% of all detected issues and were concentrated along key task paths. Compared with leading national archives, particularly TNA, NAK lacked an accessibility statement, alternative-format procedures, dedicated feedback channels, and user participation in accessibility evaluation. Based on these findings, this study proposes four technical and six institutional improvements to enhance archival web accessibility beyond technical compliance.
