AB - This study analyzes and compares the efficiency of China Jiangsu province’s manufacturing industries where foreign direct investment is relatively concentrated. This study analyzes the efficiency of foreign direct investment in 23 manufacturing industries in Jiangsu province using the three-stage DEA method.
According to the analysis results, the efficiency of foreign direct investment in Jiangsu province's manufacturing industry is not high. In addition, the efficiency of five manufacturing industries where foreign direct investment is relatively concentrated is relatively low. In particular, the manufacturing industry of communications equipment, computers, and other electronic equipment, which has the highest concentration of foreign direct investment among manufacturing industries in Jiangsu Province, has lower efficiency than the overall manufacturing industry. In addition, the returns to scale also show increasing returns to scale. This means that the manufacturing industry of communications equipment, computers, and other electronic equipment is excessively large compared to other industries.
