ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a method for converting line- and particle-based hair data into LEGO-style block representations while preserving hair flow and rotation. To overcome the limitation of block structures in expressing continuous direction, we map frame-wise position and rotation data to block orientations using quaternions, ensuring stable alignment without gimbal lock. Point-density–based filtering reduces visual overlap in dynamic regions. Results show that the proposed method effectively reproduces hair curvature and flow within a block-based structure, making it suitable for stylized rendering, game proxies, and educational visualization.
