ABSTRACT

This study aimed to analyze changes in AI literacy research following the emergence of generative AI. A total of 4,135 AI literacy publications indexed in Scopus from January 2020 to May 10, 2026 were analyzed in terms of research growth trends, author-keyword frequency, co-occurrence networks, and thematic changes based on automated representative-keyword mapping. The results showed that AI literacy research increased rapidly after 2023, with generative AI literacy emerging as a major research area. In addition, research interest expanded and was reorganized from curricula and computing education toward the use of generative AI, prompt engineering, human–AI collaboration, academic integrity, and responsible AI use. Topic mapping based on representative keywords also revealed that generative AI-related topics exhibited the highest frequency of occurrence. These findings provide implications for the future directions of AI literacy education and research in the era of generative AI.
