AB - 본고에서는, 제7차 교육과정에 따라서 작성된 중학교와 고등학교의 일본어 교과서에서, 일본어 음성 항목이 어떻게 도입되어 있는지를 조사했다. 그 결과, 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다.
1) 일본어 가나의 발음 표기는 제6차 교육과정 교과서에서 나타난 표기상의 혼란이 해소되고 통일된 표기 체계를 갖추고 있었다.
2) 교과서에 도입된 음성 항목의 종류와 그 도입 방법은 제6차 교육과정의 교과서와 거의 차이가 없었으며, 운률보다 분절음의 비중이 높았다.
3) 대부분의 교과서가 음성 항목을 계획적으로 체계적으로 도입하고 있는 것이 아니라, 형식적으로 구색을 맞추고 있다는 인상이 강했다.
4) 음성 항목을 도입하면서, 학습자나 교사에게 실질적으로 도움이 될 수 있도록 하는 구체적인 배려가 부족했다. 음성 항목의 설명 방법, 용례 및 오용 사례의 제시 방법, 학습 및 지도 방법 등에 대한 보다 구체적이고 효과적인 도입 방법을 모색할 필요가 있다.
5) 모든 교과서가 권말 부록으로 제시하고 있는 어휘 색인의 기능을 보충할 필요가 있다. 대부분의 교과서의 어휘 색인은 일본어 가나 표기, 한자 표기, 한국어 대역, 초출 페이지로 구성되어 있지만, 한국어의 대역이 제시되지 않은 교과서도 있었다. 특히, 악센트 정보를 제시한 교과서는 전무했다.
